Mission Statement

The purpose of the organization is as follows:
  • The promotion of good fellowship and sportsmanship; as well as enlisting the aid of law abiding citizens to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania pertaining to fish, game and forestry.

  • To assist and encourage the conservation of forests/wildlife habitats.

  • This organization shall act as a medium for securing and planting such fish and game as distributed by State or National governments. Also to purchase and distribute fish and/or game as individuals or as an organization, as such funds allow or deem fit.

     

  • It is the aim of this organization to have its members abide by the laws set forth by the Federal and State constitutions at all times and to bring charges where an infraction can be proven whether the guilty be a member or not. If such member be proven guilty, the penalty shall be drawn against such a member by the Board of Directors.
  • While the organization will assist members when an injustice is charged, it will also give due consideration to complaints by landowners against members and non-members.
Our members consist of persons 21 years of age or older, interested in sports of field and streams etc. propagation of fish and game, and the preservation of forests.
We are a non-profit organization and would appreciate your help in supporting our children’s functions. Our Special Activities Committee holds our annual children’s Christmas Party and Easter Egg Hunt and our Fish Committee run our annual children’s Fishing Contest. Your donations of gift certificates, party favors, gifts, candy, Easter eggs, etc. will be greatly appreciated by the members of the Lower Saucon Sportsmen’s Association.

The Lower Saucon Sportsmen’s Association (LSSA) was incorporated in the 1940s, stemming from local interest in shooting, hunting, and fishing, evolving from a community of sportsmen who gathered along Saucon Creek for these activities, with historical mentions of their dam and bridge on the creek, and they have maintained a property in Lower Saucon Township, with a significant history of local events and community presence in the Lehigh Valley.
